After assessing over one hundred applications for our Open Call in December, we are delighted to reveal the participants in the Playable City Lagos Lab will bring together seven creative practitioners from Lagos (Nigeria) and four from the UK, to exchange ideas and develop new works that respond to the theme of the Playable City.
Playable City Lagos will support, inspire and challenge participants from Lagos to develop playful interventions that respond to specific social challenges and specific geographic locations in Lagos.
Ideas will respond to specially commissioned local research undertaken by the Urban Design Institute Future Lagos, which identified the theme of mobility as pertinent to Lagos today. Participants will be supported to create ideas and working prototypes that can be demonstrated as part of a public showcase in Lagos in 2016.
The participants are a diverse and talented collective of creatives from backgrounds ranging from fashion, photography, programming, poetry, visual art and game design.
Joining us for the Lab from Lagos are; Logo Oluwamuyiwa Adeyemi, Tosin Oshinowo, Gbadebo.P.Rhodes-Vivour, Bankole Oluwafemi, Desiree Craig, Shaina Silva, Jeremiah Ikongio and travelling with us from the Uk are; Ju Row Farr, Yann Seznec, Simon Johnson, Inua Ellams. A team from Watershed consisting of Clare Reddington (Creative Director), David Haylock (Creative Technologist) and Louise Gardener will be travelling to Lagos together with Lynsey Smith from the British Council.
