Karishma Rafferty

Curator: Public Realm & Partnerships at Somerset House.

Since joining Somerset House Trust in 2013, Karishma has worked on a broad range of different projects across the cultural programme including festivals, installations and talks. Highlights have included programming for the annual Pick Me Up Graphic Arts Festival (2013-16), and collaborating with King’s College London and The Courtauld Institute of Art on a year-long programme of activity called Utopia 2016: A Year of Imagination and Possibility.

Previous to her work for Somerset House, Karishma was an Independent Design Curator, with a specific interest in Graphic Design and Socially Engaged Design. In 2011 as part of her MA in Curating Contemporary Design at the Design Museum she took part in British Council led projects to China and around India which were focused on arts education and social enterprise respectively. Karishma began her career as a Graphic Designer working mainly on editorial projects for Phaidon Press, Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and a number well known design studios and magazines.
