Playable City starts conversations about the role of people and culture in future cities.
As such we’re working to build a community – including academics, creatives, city officials, development organisations, digital technologists and most importantly citizens – who are actively exploring the implications of embedding technology within city infrastucture, and developing imaginative prototypes that use creative technologies to rethink public space.
There are lots of ways to get involved and join the conversation:

Join the Playable City Community
Our future vision is to establish a global network of Playable Cities that connects people and ideas across continents. So far we have connected a series of very different cities across five continents. Our experience of embedding Playable City within these locations has led us to identify a few key elements that we believe are essential in making successful Playable City projects. We’re now busy creating some resources, to help people understand these elements. We’ll have them online soon, along with an offer to join our community on Slack to share ideas and best practice with others. Join the mailing list (above) to get news of when these resources go live.
Do you have an idea for a project?
Every year we support development of a new Playable City project idea through the Playable City Award. The call for ideas for the 2016 Award launched this July. Join the mailing list (above) to recieve the latest news.
